Retailers like Lowe's must withstand hate group's intolerance

Which this group finds unbearably offensive. It called the show “propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.” Meaning that because one of these families isn’t harboring a terrorist or plotting to impose Sharia law, they couldn’t possibly be Muslims in America.

Incredibly, Lowe’s said it was “best to respectfully defer” to that complaint and pulled its ads.

My parents asked for a gift card from Lowe’s for Christmas and now I have to find them a real gift from somewhere else.

It’s for the best anyway. I was already feeling gross about this devolution of holiday “gift giving” into them sending us a check, and us sending them a credit for some big box store. Jesus must be rolling over in His cloud over these sanctified financial transactions.

Now, with tolls up, riders are flocking to PATH and finding more efficient and environmentally friendly ways of reaching the city. It’s too early to draw definite conclusions from the fare hikes, but everyone has their price when it comes to ditching a solo car ride into Manhattan.

The future of the Suzy-Q

Frelinghuysen sponsored an amendment to reallocate high-speed rail funds for Midwest flood relief.

Talk about treating the symptoms.

In a hilarious development, Governors Cuomo and Christie expect us to believe that they had no idea the Port Authority would propose such a steep hike. They only signed off on its capital plan, they didn’t expect anyone would have to pay for it!

Yes, whether he’s shuttering Planned Parenthood clinics, ousting ‘liberal’ judges in order to scare the rest of them, or abandoning necessary and useful infrastructure projects (a headline referencing his decision to kill the tunnel is briefly featured in the piece as an example of Christie’s greatness), Chris Christie is a new kind of politician.

As far as I can tell, Christie doesn’t care about pollution, energy dependency, carnage, obesity or downtown businesses. He’s cutting transit and promoting driving because ‘we’ (he and the people who voted for him) drive, and ‘they’ take the train. He’s perfectly happy to pay for infrastructure and state services, but only for ‘us.’

The whole reason the turnpike works so beautifully, from a fiscal standpoint, is that out-of-state drivers subsidize NJT’s road system to an extent only red states with lots of Teabaggers usually enjoy – except in NJ’s case, the subsidies at least relate somewhat to usage.

I hoped this time would be different, given that Judge Feinberg, in her ruling on the New Jersey voting machine case, urged the state not to leave voting machines unattended in public.
